Army Soldier Debt Counseling Statement Example
Immediate action to resolve the Soldier’s debt should be take upon notification to the Chain of Command. The first step is to talk to the Soldier about his debt and find out why the Soldier did not fulfill his commitment and counsel the Soldier on a DA Form 4856, developmental counseling form. The Soldier should also be enrolled in financial management classes which are available at the local Army Community Service. The Soldier must also be informed about the consequences of not paying debts such as UCMJ actions and losing their security clearance.
